3 baths.

I’m running my third bath of the day. Seems odd and a bit indulgent of myself. But here’s the deal…

I woke up feeling really thirsty for water this morning. Once up and moving I realised this was because my throat was sore. And my body was achey. NO! I really don’t do ‘sick’ well, so I had Dave take me to work as usual but told him he may get a phone call that afternoon asking for an early lift home. And boy did he get that phone call!

At some point that morning I decided that I would make soup for dinner. It’s been showing more signs of autumn here, and as that depresses me, I do love making soups that warm the soul. We stopped by a grocery store to get the things I needed for potato, leek & bacon soup, came home, and I started running the bath as I was unloading my shopping. Once done I went to get into my bath and it was FREEZING COLD! I had run the cold water instead of the hot. At this point I was feeling quite sorry for myself and Dave came to the rescue to drain that water and run another *hot* bath for me. That was around 4:30 today.

The soup was gorgeous—accompanied by warm crusty bread smoothered in goats cheese. Pure comfort food. It’s 9pm now and I decided about twenty minutes ago I needed another bath. There’s something about being in that warm water—-it soothes my aching body and also provides that womb-like comfort.

I’m hoping the warm bath will help send me into a restful sleep so I can feel better tomorrow. It is weigh-in day!
